Find the big idea, see how facts are organized, and test whether reasons hold up.
Connect texts, unpack word parts, read tone, and notice how authors shape meaning.
FAST is computer-adaptive and given near the beginning, middle, and end of the school year. Sunshine uses the same grade-level categories throughout while helping you track which reading moves are becoming dependable.
Grade 9 and Grade 10 FAST measures reading. Grammar and extended writing matter across school and other exams, but Florida reports B.E.S.T. Writing separately. Sunshine will keep that prep in its own clearly named program instead of pretending it is part of the FAST Reading score.
